Metropolis Music

Metropolis Music was founded in 1985 by Bob Angus. Fellow director Paul Hutton joined the company in 1987 and Glyn Smith became Financial Director in 2004. The business has grown in stature and reputation over the years and is now recognised as one of the country’s leading independent concert promotion companies. Bob Angus also sits on the executive committee of the Concert Promoters Association. There are currently twenty full time employees at Metropolis Music.

The company promotes some five hundred concerts per year in clubs, ballrooms, city halls, arenas and stadiums across the UK. They have promoted many of the most significant acts today and among their many current clients are Robbie Williams, Eminem, Oasis, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Foo Fighters, Rammstein, System Of A Down, Blur, Massive Attack, Basement Jaxx, Bjork, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Kaiser Chiefs and Nick Cave.

They are committed to working with acts from their inception, helping to build their careers as touring artistes from their first small concerts to huge arenas and green field sites. Significant events have included, 3 record breaking nights of Robbie Williams at Knebworth Park , 5 nights at Milton Keynes Bowl and 2 nights at Cardiff Millennium Stadium, Coldplay at Crystal Palace, Oasis at Wembley Stadium, Milton Keynes Bowl and Cardiff Millennium Stadium and Eminem at Milton Keynes Bowl and Blur at Mile End Stadium.

Metropolis Music is also a partner in the “V” festivals, sponsored by the Virgin Group, a dual site event and consistent winner of Live Magazine’s European Festival Of The Year. Metropolis Music currently work with a number of media partners and sponsors to produce events such as the NME Awards, T4 on the Beach, BBC Electric Proms, The Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, The Somerset House Series and Carling Live 24. The company has also extended into Artist Management and currently manages GLC and the Brits 2007 Best Female Artist winner and 5 Grammy Award winning Amy Winehouse.

SJM Concerts

SJM Concerts have worked with a range of artists over the years including Oasis, Take That, Radiohead, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Robbie Williams, The Killers, Stereophonics, Scissor Sisters, Keane, Faithless, Spice Girls, Sugababes, Foo Fighters and Muse.

In 1996, SJM initiated the "V" Festival with a consortium of three other promoters. The award winning event has consistently been voted the best festival in end of year polls, leading to the two-side format being widely imitated by competitors. More recently, in 2006, SJM promoted Take That's comeback shows selling over 550,000 tickets in the process.

SJM Concerts is one of the leading promoters in the UK and has since been voted 'Promoter Of The Year' several times by industry magazine "Live". Simon Moran, Managing Director of SJM Concerts sits on the Academy Music Group Board of Directors.

MCD Productions (Eire)

MCD Productions is Ireland’s leading talent buying and concert promotions company. Established in 1980 and headquartered in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, MCD is responsible for the broadest range of entertainments events in Ireland and the UK that range from hosting U2 before 160,000 in Slane Castle to securing David Bowie for an intimate one-off special event in front of 200 people in Dublin.

Other MCD promoted events include Madonna, Prince, Oasis, Neil Diamond, Disney On Ice, Robbie Williams, Rolling Stones, Westlife, Fleetwood Mac, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rod Stewart to name a few.

MCD Productions event managed the Special Olympics 2003 World Games opening and closing ceremonies, the gala Millennium Eve event in Dublin’s Merrion Square, MTV Europe Music Awards 1999, plus MCD Productions develops, manages and promotes some of the biggest and best outdoor festivals in Europe including Heineken Green Energy & Oxegen (Ireland), T In The Park (Scotland) and "V" Festival (England).

MCD Productions also owns and operates a number of venues including The Olympia Theatre, The Gaiety Theatre, The Ambassador Theatre and the Academy, Dublin. Since entering the market over 20 years ago, MCD Productions enjoys an unrivalled industry reputation selling over 1,000,000 tickets annually in the Irish market.
